The program

Foundation Track: a 4-month crash course

Everyone who joins our Full-stack Traineeship starts with an intensive four-month initiation program. In 4 months, we will prepare you to excel at your first assignment. We believe in learning by doing. Our Foundation Track program is custom-designed and fully delivered by our specialists. We ensure you become well-acquainted with the most up-to-date tools and techniques so that your knowledge is current. We also focus on writing well-structured and efficient code according to our coding standards. Additionally, you will earn important AWS, Docker and Java certifications and learn everything about our agile way of working.

Master Track: 8-month hands-on training in the IT-teams

After the Foundation Track, the traineeship officially begins. If you are one of the 6 people selected from the Foundation Track, you will start working on real assignments in one of our IT teams. But don't worry, you'll be surrounded by our experienced developers who are always available to help you. Along the way there will be regular training days reserved for your development. During these days, you will follow the Academy program.

Q&A

What is the schedule of the traineeship?

The first 4 months will focus on onboarding to our way of working and intense training in Java, AWS and Docker via an intern contract. For the next 8 months you will take a spot in one of our development teams via a temporary contract. Under the guidance of your buddy, you will continue training through real assignments, working in a scrum team. When your progress is successful, you can stay in that team afterwards (permanent position).

What are the working/learning hours?

The first 4 months, September to December, will be mostly in our offices in Antwerp and Amsterdam, with the possibility to study from home on specific days. A training day will be from 9h to 17h30. Then, from January, hours and location will depend on the team you get assigned to. This can either be Amsterdam, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Vilvoorde and most teams go to the office 1 to 3 days a week (fixed teamdays) and work remotely for the other days.

How many trainees do you accept?

We have 10 Foundation Track positions. From this group we will select 6 people for the Master Track. Selections will be based on the working and learning performance in the Foundation Track.

What will you be looking for in the candidates?

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic students who are passionate about pursuing a career at DPG Media and are eager to grow and develop within our company.

Do you plan to compensate transportation costs for trainees commuting by train?

Yes, we do. Our recruiters will provide you with all the details regarding your contract from day one.

What will the intake session be like?

During an intake session, you will:

• Receive comprehensive information about the Developer Academy and the associated contract

• Participate in two speed-dates, each with a recruiter and a manager or a senior technical profile, to discuss your motivations and aspirations for enrolling

• Have the opportunity to ask any remaining questions about the program

Do I have to bring anything to the Intake session?

There is no need to prepare or bring anything specific. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm!
