What is the schedule of the traineeship?

The first 4 months will focus on onboarding to our way of working and intense training in Java, AWS, and Docker via an intern contract. For the next 8 months, you will take a spot in one of our development teams via a temporary contract. Under your buddy's guidance, you will continue training through real assignments while working in a scrum team. When your progress is successful, you can stay in that team afterwards (permanent position).

What are the working/learning hours and working location?

The first 4 months, September to December, will be mostly in our offices in Antwerp and Amsterdam, with the possibility to study from home on specific days. A limited number of days per month all students will be in Antwerp or Amsterdam so there will be some travelling with the possibility to stay overnight. Travel and hotel will be taken care of.A training day will be from 9h to 17h30. Then, from January, hours and location will depend on the team you get assigned to. This can be Amsterdam, Antwerp, Rotterdam, or Vilvoorde, and most teams go to the office 1 to 3 days a week (fixed team days) and work remotely on the other days.

How many trainees do you accept?

The Foundation Track is a 4-month period that counts as a professional internship for your curriculum. We offer this possibility to a group of 10 students. From this group, we will select 6 people for the Master Track. Selections will be based on the working and learning performance in the Foundation Track.

Will all applications be accepted for the Intake session?

Accepted Answer

Acceptance depends on your current status:First-time applicants: You are highly likely to be accepted as long as you have sufficient proficiency in Dutch or English, and you complete your common core by June 30th. Past experience has shown that balancing the final stages of the common core with the Foundation Track is too demanding. Therefore, we only accept applicants who will complete their common core by June 30th.Returning applicants: If you applied previously and were not selected, you are welcome to apply again. However, you must be able to demonstrate how you have grown or improved since your last attempt. Please describe your recent progress in the comment field of the registration form.

What will the intake session be like?

During an intake session, you will:Receive comprehensive information about the Developer Academy and the associated contractParticipate in two speed dates, each with a recruiter and a manager or a senior technical profile, to discuss your motivations and aspirations for enrolling. One interview will be more technical skill focused and the other more soft skill focusedYou will participate in a group exercise where we evaluate how you work together in a groupHave the opportunity to ask any remaining questions about the program

Do I have to bring anything to the Intake session?
