Jamaica Vink appointed as new Editor-in-Chief of BN DeStem

01/03/2026

Jamaica Vink (33) has been named the new Editor-in-Chief of BN DeStem. Effective from 2 March, she succeeds André Trompers, who has transitioned to the role of Editor-in-Chief at Brabants Dagblad.

Vink has been with BN DeStem since 2015, serving in leadership roles for the past four years. In recent months, she has acted as interim Editor-in-Chief alongside her colleague Annemieke van Dongen.

Vink commented: "Having been born and raised in the region, I have always felt a profound connection to West Brabant. BN DeStem has become an integral part of my life—from the place where I first learned the craft as an intern to my new role as Editor-in-Chief. I am incredibly excited to work with the editorial team to continue building this prestigious title."

"BN DeStem is deeply rooted in West Brabant. We are at the heart of the news, both regionally and locally. We stay close and remain committed where others pull away. Our readers are increasingly finding their way to our app and website, where they can share their own contributions, solutions, and ideas, and enjoy stories presented through high-quality visuals and audio."

A four-member committee, representing both the editorial board and management, chose Jamaica Vink unanimously. Allard Besse, Director of AD and the regional titles at DPG Media, stated: "We are convinced that Jamaica’s energy and her focus on digital innovation will provide exactly the right impetus for BN DeStem and its newsroom. With this appointment, we are choosing a highly talented colleague from within our own ranks."

Like Brabants Dagblad, BN DeStem is part of DPG Media.
